Feedback

Feedback is the physical feeling transmitted through a pencil as it moves across the paper.

A pencil with strong feedback allows the artist to feel the texture or tooth of the paper. It may chatter, vibrate, or produce noticeable resistance as it travels across the surface.

A pencil with minimal feedback feels smoother and more cushioned, with less awareness of the paper's texture beneath the tip.

Feedback is influenced by the pencil's formulation, firmness, applied pressure, but also the amount of paper texture.

Feedback It is not an indication of poor performance, it’s just a sensation we notice as we color. Some artists prefer noticeable feedback because it helps them control how the pencil interacts with the paper.
